Browser Game of the Year 2009: The winners have been announced!

In the votes for the "Browser Game of the Year" the independent jury surveyed the best browser game releases of 2009 and named a winner in each of the eleven categories.

Winner of the category "Game Design" is the game "Wewaii" from TG Nord. "Pirate Galaxy" by Splitscreen Studios triumphs in the categories of "Presentation" and "Action". "Jupiter Jump" by spotsonfire outdoes it's competitors in the section "Game Play". Winner in the category "Role-playing" is Play Games' "Shakes & Fidget". "Stone Age Kings" by Gorilla Gaming impressed in the categories of "Story" and "Strategy". Winner of the category "Business Sim" is "Gilde 1400" by Gameforge. "OGCOpen The Online Golf Challenge" by Daniel Erbert and Sebastian Suckow wins in the categories of "Sports" and "Indie Development". For the best "Casual" browser game "My Free Farm" by upjers is elected.

Winner of the overall standings and the proud "Browser Game of the Year" of 2009 is the hotel manager "Wewaii".

In the public vote, proceeded parallel to the jury's vote, more than 35,000 gamers submitted their votes for their browser game of the year. Overall, the official web site recorded 300,000 visitors.

Winner in the public category "Large Games" is "Good Poker Game". The category of "Medium Games" is won by "Supremacy 1914". As public favorite in the category "Small Games" "Ondarun 2" is crowned.
